Hi :) My name is Bethany Benson and I've completed my B.A. with a major in History and minor in French at Trent University in Oshawa and my B.Ed. at Trent University in Peterborough with French and History teachables. I am currently enrolled in the M.A. program at York University for Critical Disability Studies.
August 2, 2009 was the start of my new life with my first car accident. This accident tore a ligament in my neck and my boxing career was over. Then one year later, August 2, 2010 I was in a serious car accident that almost took my life. I have many invisible disabilities now and many that someone my age should not have. I have faced many people judging me and making rude comments because I look "normal". My story has inspired me to spread awareness of invisible disabilities and create a classroom where everyone (teachers and students) is accepted for who they are.
