This was the best placement I have had so far. I was in an alternative classroom in a group home in Ajax. These kids had mental health issues, criminal records and other reasons that kept them from the main stream school system. In previous placements, I was in a lot of pain and under a lot of stress, my disabilities from my car accidents really came out when I was doing them. At this placement, I was able to work around my disabilities more and take breaks when I needed them as well and sit down or get up when I wanted. It wasn't just a good atmosphere for the students but for the teacher as well. I really like working with students individually and learning about them, hearing their stories and motivating them to achieve more. These students looked stereotypical "normal" but had things that held them back and just needed someone to listen to them and work with issues they faced. In this placement it was much more than just completing the work successfully but also getting the students to accept who they are and give them tools they can use in the future. This placement offered me another work option I could take in the future that did work with my disabilities and still made me proud of the work I completed.
