Here are some resources I have used for my learning disability, physical disability or mental health issues.
- Dragon Dictation (computer and IPhone application), it types what you say
- Read and Write (computer program), it reads to you what you tell it to
- Smart Pen, a pen that tapes the lecture but you can also go to specific points in the lecture by telling it to save those points by marking it on the smart paper
- Lap top, this has allowed me to have all my stuff in one place and gave me freedom to work where it worked best for me that day
- Speech Language Pathologist, a lady who is helping me develop memory strategies, reading strategies and pronouncing words that I have difficulty with
- Counselor, great person to talk to
- Doctors, their important when in recovery or dealing with any kind of disability so keep those connections
- Peer Mentors, they have talked to me about different lectures they had with me so I understood it better
- Note Takers, someone in the class shared their notes with me so I only had to listen
- Brain Injury Mentor, a program with the Brain Injury Society of Durham that connects one person with a brain injury to someone else so they can talk each week about the recovery process and changes they have
