Bullying is something that is finally being talked about and all forms of bullying are being looked at. Bullying doesn't just happen as it use to face to face but also online and many other ways. Society is changing because of this and there have been teens who have taken their life because the bullying was too much for them.
When I was in school I was bullied and pretty badly. With my car accident I have forgot much of what I was like and life before it but I remember in details some of the moments that bullying was at it's worse for me. Still today I have trouble standing up for myself because I'm afraid of what people will do to me afterwards and it's all from being bullied.
What can you do about bullying?
- Talk to your children about it
- Promoting positive speaking about others
- If you know someone is having trouble with bullying, be there to stand up for them and let them know that they are loved and accepted as they are
- Watch what your children do and say online. There's a lot that goes on here now and we need to make sure we are watching what our children are doing so we know they are not being the ones to bully others.
- If you find out your child has bullied someone, punish them for this so they know that that behaviour is not accepted
- Have family dinners reduces bullying because it engages students to talk to parents about what is going on
- Children should not sleep with their cell phones in their room because it causes them to get less sleep and sleep is very important to the body
